This series is a documentation of my second experience of Afrikaburn, the South African leg of Burning Man, and the seconded largest Burning Man-affiliated gathering outside of the original. I spent 5 days in the Klein Karoo desert with nothing but my closest friends, my camera (which I kept forgetting back at camp), some food and water, and a bunch of artistic strangers.
It’s a truly remarkable experience, one that I would suggest every human be part of at least once in their lives. Seldom do we get a chance to see how people behave and interact with each other when money and commodities are taken out of the mix. The result is somewhere between hedonism and purity. For me, it's a brief glimpse into what society could be. And take my cynical word for it, it's pretty fucking beautiful.
